From the comment it would appear to predate the Public Release of Beta2. It also doesn't make much sense as the only sensible interpretation of what he has said is that Vist Beta Public Beta should have been released by now. I think he was either not authorised to give any firm information, or simply didn't know.

Just reading the Microsoft IE7 blog and they say their will be a beta 3 before the final release. So the question has to be asked can we expect IE7 to be released to the public before the end of the decade? This decade I mean ....

And what exactly was the purpose of this Beta 3. Is to sample opinion from the Galaxy Andomeda, because it should have been possilbe to download it over inter stellar bloody space by now!

And to think just yesterday that I was suggesting we should be nicer to Microsoft.

Are they just giving themselves more time to grab IDNs, do you think?

no i think M$ have partnered with Domainsite, so that we all have to renew early next year because of lack of Ie7 and traffic

This is still the best indicator that we are really close to full roll out. They are just being non commital. I mean, this showed up out of nowhere (a week or two ago)...and centerstage no less.

It is a little dissapointing, but what's another few months? Plus, that little search box located on the same horizontal level as the main URL box makes me think the type-in traffic as a % of searches should increase. How many incremental users will type in searches in the main URL box instead of the search box by mistake or otherwise? Anybody else think this development is a good thing for type-ins or it's just my wishful thinking?

Yes, but not where it matters. I don't think reality, as you first put it, is a concept that Microsoft recognises.

Bloody Vista is gets higher priority than IE 7.0, and that is scheduled to be available for when my Great Grand Children start work!

RD- you are right on that one...they guy responsible for this end of Microsoft Japan IT team is now offically in the IDN "dog house". But I guess your have to look at it as the glass being either "half full" or "half empty".

I have it now. Still use Firefox out of habit, but nothing wrong with it, apart from the fact it is collecting dust and will obscelete before it is released.

So:
(a) They are allowing for IE7 to be pushed into 2007
(b) No guarantees IE7 will be auto-update.

I can see a lot of people with a lot of "renewal fees pain" early next year .....

I use hotmail, and recently hotmail changed its site so that it wouldn't work with firefox.
