Had a weird sale.
I had a very strange sale yesterday. I won't go into the specifics of what domain it was but it was a .com and a great keyword. First thing first.
1. I recieved an e-mail from this person using the whois of the domain approaching me to purchase a domain. Nothing strange about that, recieve a few a week. 2. We negotiated a price. Again nothing strange about that. 3. I accepted a final price. 4. I recieved payment via paypal. The payment was from an "unverified sender." Doesn't give me, the reciepent, much to fall back on if this person reneged on the deal. 5. I then realized that the names this person was using were aliases of old famous people. This got me very concerned. 6. I then realized the e-mail reciepent name was of an old famous song. I am starting to freak out. 7. I am searching like crazy for this person on google and yahoo. All I'm thinking is this person is going to take my domain cancell the paypal and run off with this domain. 8. I write an e-mail asking the person to verify himself. 9. I then recieve an e-mail stating that this person wants to be anonymous. 10. I finally find this person doing a search on msn for his e-mail. RELIEVED. The moral of this story is: If you are buying a domain and want to be anonymous (Which is fine) at least verify your paypal account so that when you send the seller a payment they have something a fall back on knowing at least your not a scammer. And come after you if you reneged or cancelled the payment. Again, way to much stress way to late in the evening. But everything worked out fine. Got my cash, and purchased a major block of ovt. .com idn's. Sarcle.

Re: Had a weird sale.
On an electronic transfer you can put a stop payment on that anytime untill it's deposited. 3-4 days is time to contact the bank, get it set up, and time for it to deposit.
Because like I said, All I have to do is go to a bank and say I didn't authorize this and cancel it. In some states also, such as in Kansas, I have 3 days to inspect a good, and within those 3 days I can return this product anytime for a refund.
