Here is the link, they lowered the price on .CN thats good news for us, now we can grab them in idn and not have to worry about that 30 dollar price tag http://en.chinabroadcast.cn/974/2006.../271@52610.htm

The price drop is for english.cn only. IDN.cn is still expensive, $25 up.

I think its also for chinese citizens only as I don't think i've ever seen a $15 pricetag anywhere

BTW: Where does it say english only .cn

Im also interested in where does it say its only for english, and the link is from today so the pricing probalby has not taken effect as of today

It will certainly be for mainland China registrations, which are not transferable out of the PRC and maybe subject to more restriction than non PRC registrations.

The price drop has been in effect for a month now, for Chinese residents only of course. The price for IDN.cn has no change.

Not all people reporting news understand there's such thing as IDN. My info is directly from CNNIC.

CNNIC kinda lied tho... as they should say all chinese should be able to register their own IDN for the same price as an english one....

I have been following news from China very closely since the release of IE7 Beta 2. What steps CNNIC is taking to promote IDN.cn now and what words they have on IDN.com can give you a hint what you can expect from your IDN investment.

So far CNNIC is the most proactive in promoting idns, this bodes well for Chinese idns and certainly would benefit Joe tremendously. :-)

Yes, the news come out from China so far so good. This certainly will benefit me, and all members here as well. Hey Touchring, you are a star in this game now, coming late but very aggressive and effective :-)
