Sedo Blog is not associated with Sedo

Re: Future of .tv????

Ofcourse the sedo blog is not associated with sedo.
The article was according to Richard Rosenblatt
Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO Demand Media, Inc. He is one of true giants in the domain industry. His Companies Have Sold domains for Over $1.3 Billion
His advice may prove useful, who knows.

Well some Bun Fight in LA tonight.

If I were there I would hit the buffet and then get a few glasses of free bubbly and hit the road, before he tried to nail me for a deal.

I think the article only shows a link to what Rosenblatt said ? The article on Sedo Blog is not by him or Demand Media.

Re: Future of .tv????

It will be interesting to see how or if .tv takes off.

Anybody have any thoughts if idn.tv will get hit with premium pricing. I know several here have good/premium (hate to use that word) .tv names in multiple languages.

I thought about reggin a couple of mine out 5 years or so just in case???

thanks

Re: Future of .tv????

I suspect a lot of that is in presales and possibly some multiple years.

Those don't look like the kind of numbers I would have though Demand Media would have been looking for on day one, as sales are more likley to tail off than grow organically.

If they sold all their Premium names for that figure is just about Reg Fee!

Those that sat on their hands to see how this pans out will still be sitting on their hands.

I did some research on this, it's not reg fee. Nice publicity stunt.

Log in to purchase this domain name.

I won't mind renting my 日本.TV for just 5% of that, though --- $2500 a year. :p

Re: Future of .tv????

My point is that one single company wanting a domain like this for the branding of their main site would almost certainly secure the lease for 10 years.

One domain like this could represent the full $500K. Not much of a splash for the likes of Verisign.

Re: Future of .tv????

Seems unlikely that Demand Media have covered their promotion costs out of their cut of the proceeds.
