Welcome. Please demonstrate you are actually a human being because right now it seems suspiciously like spam.

Why like spam? The signature is less spammy than yours and the site listed is just a simple page.

Leaving nothing more than a link will theoretically cause curious people (like me) to click on it to investigate. The site is basically empty, but if you view source there is a link to counter code. Could be a simple effort to drive up traffic before attempting a sale on moniker (where it's registered).

The domain was only registered about 3 weeks ago.

Or it could be a real person... Difficult to tell in this case.

Re: New Member

I could make a bot do that. There are also simple ways to jack up the reg process so its less standard and very hard for a bot to navigate.

This guys thread smells of a bot to many things add up , and then he hasnt even responded yet that really makes me feel we are wrong.

Yes, there are spambots programmed for all major blog and forum software.

But you had a good point, how could it know to post in the new member subsection, which is specific to this forum?

I think it could be just manual SEO. Register to high-ranked domain discussion forums and drop backlinks to your own domain sales site.

Yeah i tend to agree with that. Does anyone know how long a bot sticks around on a forum after it has done its "job" I noticed his last activity was 27 minutes later from the time of the post.

I'd say we give him 24 hours and then delete if he doesn't respond.

Re: New Member

Ya rhys, just a sarcastic poke I'm not trying to start anything But anyways, if you ever have a phpbb, joomla, invision, vbulletin etc. as a site what you should do to avoid bot registrations besides admin activate is to modify the reg process so it is foreign to a bot and not the same ol form.

Another good idea is to change folder names. It's funny how many people leave their forums named phpbb etc. The bots can find your site so easy with default folder names.

Re: New Member

It's not a bot, due to having a personal icon.

However, this is the most cool forum there is! I have never seen so many replies to a «possible» bot post.
