Highest google results?

Just a survey for general interest. What is your highest google results domain, with "" around the term? Let's restrict it to whole words, and not single letter domains, e.g. single katakana characters or single arabic characters, etc. unless it is actually a real word as well.

To start the stats:

Term: 性
Meaning: sex/nature(cn), characteristic(jp)
Google: 1,080,000,000
domain: 性.biz

.

Re: Highest google results?

It would probably be most Chinese character domains. The advantage is it doesn't have to be limited to one language.
If I look at my 台湾.jp (Taiwan) These country name chinese characters are the same in a few languages.
& I know none of my domains are the highest google results didn't look at that for a factor..

Don't drop it, you never know who you can sell it to in the future.

This is the winner so far! Chinese translators don't turn up anything, but japanese shows "mark".

Anybody else?

This is known as being a "pack rat" :-)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pack_rat

The term pack rat is also used in English as slang to refer to a person who collects miscellaneous items and has trouble getting rid of them (a compulsive hoarder).

Try translating this -

他妈

Followed by this -

他妈的

With the extra 的.

Are you saying that it actually is not a word in chinese, but purely a modifier?

If that's the case, I don't think this is the winner!

Babelfish translator says "gentleman", "hits", and "elder brother".

Strange...

this is why Chinese totally flumaxes me.

My most trusted source to translate Chinese (MDBG) says: really and truly,
(possessive particle) / of, aim / clear

how on earth did you get Taxi from that. I'm not saying i dont believe you but - google images shows the same as if i had typed "show me all random stuff please"

的士 is a sound word, like kana, 的 in pinyin is "de", 士 is "shi", deshi.

By not owning a car and have to take taxi frequently in China. And by living in Beijing for a long time.
的.com is one of the first domains I tried to reg, but only found out that it was regged in 2000.

Try google image for 的士 and 的哥.

It is true that the Domain Creation Date of [的.com] is 2000-11-10
I'm not sure that this owner is a Chinese or not? (I think it is not)

Take a look for:
about 4,630,000,000 search results for [ of ]
about 4,340,000,000 search results for [ for ]

The single [ 的 ] in Chinese means is a little be similar to [of] in English.

的士 and 的哥 is Cantonese - it is popular in Hong Kong and few province in China, that is a different story.

Re: Highest google results?

Take my word for it or drop it.

The value of your domain relies on the fact that 的 means Taxi in China.
Of course it also means "of", "for", "TARGET" etc.

的士 is originated from Hongkong, in fact the term is rarely used in China. While 打的, 面的 (cheap daihatsu taxi), 的哥 etc are so popular in Modern China. I understand that these were first used in Beijing and spreaded out to other provinces.

Boy, you're handy to have around. Thanks - again (for the second time today)

Also kudos to RD - you see I bought this name from RD last year, I. Think it was my 3rd idn. RD sold it based on the same translation I came up with, BUT the only reason RD had it in the first place and kept for all that time was because of the high google hits it got. I think that was a key metric for RD when regging Chinese. You're a smart cookie RD!
