Japanese Domainers must be downloading IE7

Having switch our traffic back to Namedrive after a short absense, it is clear that there whilst the general levels of traffic have not lept dramatically, something is going on in Japan. There is a big increase in traffic levels there. We seem to be getting most a lot more traffic particularly on single characters. This can only be due to experimentation with the address bar in IE7 in my opinion. There just have to be a lot more instances of the browser out there than there were a month ago.

Has Auto Updates started in Japan yet? You tell me, but something is definitely happening.

I don't notice anything unusual with traffic at Namedrive. It's business as usual and rather ho-hum as of yet.

My traffic on developed sites is all tracked with analytics so still can't see if IE7 is making a dent yet but very little direct navigation to my sites. Still SE driven.

under dashboards on left, choose "webmaster", then click on "web design parameters" then browser versions, then below the chart click on the expand + next to IE and it will break out the major versions. Recommend sitting down before looking tho if it's as weak as mine.

I'm pretty sure that GA is still lumping IE7 in 'IE6' browser stats, as stattracker on other sites are seeing about 14% IE7 use, whereas GA shows a big fat zero.

I am getting no IE7 records at all on any websites, never mind Japanese sites on analytics

Edit: Actually I just seen 1 (One IE7 record out of a total 2,400 visits to a Japanese site)

I'm seeing just over 5% on a mini site.

Depending on where your site is hosted, you may have more detailed stats available through your control panel.
