IDN's are worthless crap and the forums are full of $10 names

we've all heard this before, maybe not paraphrased quite like that, but the same underlying message.

Strategically i'm done buying in the aftermarket now and i have finally finished my last tour of heavy duty mining/regging - so i'm free to talk about the market with a little more candidness now

The IDN market has gone underground. Deals are done by PM, email and IM

Today I received a high $x,xxx offer for a dot JP.

I know of a few high $x,xxx low $xx,xxx and mid $xx,xxx that have gone down - all of them under the radar.

I'm not buying anymore, I am locking the vault - so the purpose of this post is simple - most people here that I have the utmost respect for are neither buyers nor sellers - and if you are not in the loop and you do not know this - then you do now. Think carefully before you sell out for $xxx low $x,xxx

Feel free to vote anonymously on the poll

Re: IDN's are worthless crap and the forums are full of $10 names

I've stopped registering names that lie around since Sept 2006. But stepped up on buying names on offer between $20 to $100.

My intention is to work on SEO - the irony is that it's the secondary names that rank better (after the honeymoon period).

btw, i've been receiving 8 figures crap offer on ND often.

Wise strategy. Sold one last night for $61.11 at our Lucky Dip Auction that I had previously already received $3K from by a native Chinese speaker last year. He wanted to go after something much bigger which I know he bought and asked if I would refund, which I did. Just show what bargains are out there.

Anyway congratulations to Seesawgame!

Some of us are just left with the .nu , .biz tidbits

Might just keep a few of the 700 idn.com's I have though.

You have to ask Mulligan for a Auction ID.

The domain means Mailbox.com but is also used as a synonym for "email", I believe.

I think we will announcing another Lucky Dip planned to end at the end of the Month.

Expect more giveaways.

Why is there no option for I got a offer in the $xx,xxx range + and accepted ?

"Strategically i'm done buying in the aftermarket now and i have finally finished my last tour of heavy duty mining/regging - so i'm free to talk about the market with a little more candidness now"

Just dont tell too much thanks . Or i will be forced to start a campaign to get this place closed down again lol.

"the irony is that it's the secondary names that rank better (after the honeymoon period)."

Things like this are the reason this place should close down. Well atleast until I get a G4 and a Vay K home in Dubai. Then we can all join back here and just talk about how much money we have and wont even have to discuss domains.

Give and take, talk about the generals to help the newbies and promote the industry, but keep the real secrets to yourself.

Re: IDN's are worthless crap and the forums are full of $10 names

I think your discussion Alph is legit & I'll bump it.
I think from now to the next few years new buyers will post with the intention of if I invest at least only get the best. Loan, Hotel, Mortgage etc. These terms in any given language will probably only be sold once to three times.
There has been a few post with high amounts for premiums, if they sell, no one wants to make it public. Just looking at Trader ratings let's people know that sales are going on.
I guess I'm in that bunch that doesn't buy too often & don't try to sell too often. I see it as I just want to maintain for portfolio for a little bit longer.

Re: IDN's are worthless crap and the forums are full of $10 names

things are definately hotting up out there...

The Domain Roundtable Conference 2007 in August has a specific and exclusive Session on this topic scheduled, with some of the top experts in this field invited on the panel, including DD experts. If you're involved already or interested in the unique power of IDN domains..

Ahhh...now correct me if I'm not mistaken, but isn't this 'bat' language?

The resonating sonar rings are a dead giveaway everytime...

It also means sex.com in whale speak.
