Korean term - knock-down,down, download ¿?

http://www.google.com/trends?q=%EB%8...ate=all&sort=0

다운로드 means download

다운 means down ?

That simple ?

(pardon my ignorance but I get "like" on webster, "knock-down" on babelfish and google translate)

I have 다운.net btw, the .com is registered since 2000 so I assume it's something solid.

Any help is appreciated.

"다운" is the transliteration of the english version "down". Also can be used as an abbreviation for "download" in the Korean language. My fiancee uses it all the time as opposed to download.

Asian languages often take long English words, and abbreviate them in ways unthinkable in English.

"Ik ga die nieuwe cd downen" - "I am going to download that new cd"

Could be a (popular) Dutch sentence, but then it's used as a verb, "to down something".
