한경 .com translates to "Korean Sutra", or "韩经" in Chinese. At first i was puzzled why a sutra will have such high OVT.

That is "한국경제신문" a name of econo newspaper.... shorten to "한경" and some people call it short_way(short form is not regged the trade mark).... The newspaper is the first or second rank economic paper in korea.

The shortform basically means 'Han Sutra', Sutra as in the Buddhist script? I saw there is even a HanKyung University.

Yes, we have the Hankyung University.. but i do not know how famous...

Common people rarely use buddhism script "경" ... and "한" is almost never used with "경" in buddhism term.

The most and the best term of "한경" is a very well known "korea economic newspaper". They use "hankyung.com" as their main domain which has a exact same pronunciation "한경.com".

Ok, i got it. 경 / 经(chinese) also represent economy. So, Hankyung is short for 'Korean Economy'.

I have a follow up to this type of question in Japanese. I have a term with very high ovt and it is the name of a commercial event but it is not trade marked (used the IP Gazettes of the JPO in japanese). If I take the term and then they later trade mark the name, do I lose the domain?

I have found out that this is the term that the event is also known as....don't know if that makes a difference. Maybe I should just stay away, but if it is not trademarked why shouldn't I be able to use it?
