Anybody ever seen the oldest domain list?

http://www.jottings.com/100-oldest-dot-com-domains.htm

I was reading how originally people had the one letter domains like a.com but they didnt pay the hefty renewal fees.

Then all but 3 of them got locked down by the IANA leaving x.com z.com and i forget the other lol.

And how much do members think that the IANA reserved single characters will fetch when they are auctioned next year?

Re: Anybody ever seen the oldest domain list?

My guess is even higher... US$XX,XXX,XXX for some of them - now that the financial investing boys are in on the domain game as well.

I heard of a very large figure paid for iphone.com (and sure some companies will see single letters as worth at least this)?
So guess if that was true (and given some of the prices paid for ascii domains so far) then I am sure someone will pay a large figure for some of those Rubber Duck.

What is your own guess?

Cheers, Asiaplay

Re: Anybody ever seen the oldest domain list?

x.org is also very famous and heavily used, has been around forever. It's the open source window manager which is used on linux, unix, etc.
