赁.cn vs. 赁.com - Chinese for RENT

赁.cn vs. 赁.com - Chinese for RENT

I just bought 赁.cn from Jason1 & am trying to do some web development.

Now, the big question is: Do Chinese folks care whether it's .cn or .com or .biz? What's the pecking order?

Shall I bother trying to get .com from the other owner?

There are several TLD extensions still available

Re: 赁.cn vs. 赁.com - Chinese for RENT

租 is the main word for "rent" in Chinese.

Get 租.com if you really want to start a rent website. But I would guess it should have gone in year 2000, and you need serious cash to buy it.

.com is the king in China.

Re: 赁.cn vs. 赁.com - Chinese for RENT

Both .com and .cn are used but and I just doublechecked with my Chinese family members 赁 is a hardly used term for rent in Chinese.

租赁 is used in written Chinese and seems the most popular term search wise/advertisement wise

租 by itself is also used but less advertising wise and 赁 is hardly used.

You can see the difference in Baidu for the 3 searches

租赁

My advice would be not to bother with the .com but that's just my 2 rmb

Re: 赁.cn vs. 赁.com - Chinese for RENT

what about 租房?

This has the highest baidu index score (seems especially popular after city names)

Also the google trends say the same thing: google trends

I get the term as renting or to rent a room.

No surprise who has 租.com...TDC, Ltd since 2000'.
Might have a better chance getting the .net at a reasonable price.

Re: 赁.cn vs. 赁.com - Chinese for RENT

yeah 赁 isn't that great when used as a character.

租 is definitely the main term.

赁 (Lin4) is normally used with the above term. making 租赁 (Zou1 Lin4)

赁 would translate to 4 [1] [v] rent; hire; [2] [n] hired person

In terms of .com vs .cn. Both are good if developing. Maybe i would give a bit more weight to the .coms, but for the best domains, cn would also be very good.

I think in terms of development its up to you.If you have an idea or suitable script, i say go for it. Single character domain is easy to remember, and even though the term is not the best it is still usable.

.com is the king in China.

Markits is from Zhejiang, he says that dot com is king, but for some reasons, a lot of people here still don't believe that .com is the king in China.
