The saga of the "next few months" Iraq timeline

http://www.americanprogress.org/issu...timeline.html/

Interesting graphic showing quotes from all those serious leaders that never get questioned about their stupid words.

I am sure if they give another Republican President a couple of terms in office some progress will be discernible, at least from one perspective or the other.

I doubt we will see any shemales sitting in the oval office in our lifetime. The US is still an extremely conservative country. Regardless of what you might think, Hillary is not packing a sausage...

I personally think that Colin Powell was a good leader and would have made a good president (party affiliation aside), but he was in the right place at the wrong time so he declined the nomination and retired with his honor intact.

The job only really takes a modicum of intelligence and a bit of basic honesty, which is demonstrated by the successful candidates' persistent failures to meet even these lowly criteria. Perhaps it is time to re-evaluate the selection process.

Powell lost his honour when he didn't resign in protest and whistleblow the scam the administration foisted on the American public. He put honour to the President over honour to the Constitution.

In US politics the two are indistinguishable. Presidential contests nearly always go to those with the biggest advertising budgets regardless of personalities, ability or grasp of the issues.

Notice how all the US politics posts are all made by people who live outside the US? And none of this political stuff affects domaining, so I don't know why you people care so much.

Those that keep making fun of the U.S. president should notice that the U.K. prime minister is no angel himself.

Re: The saga of the "next few months" Iraq timeline

Iraq issue is a small issue and one which will be resolved with time and some cooperation from the Iranians.

The bigger problem that will affect us directly, domains included, is in the economy. The speed at which the credit fiasco has progressed is alarming. Noticed that the ECB has started acting on the issue with 130billion rescue? And it's not even a European problem.

Any economist here can clear up the situation? I suspect that there is a lot of going on behind the scenes - i now don't trust bloomberg and cnbc.

Yes, very interesting that Europeans spent 5 times as much intervening. Is Bush skint already?

Credit crunch has also hit Singapore. A major bank has announced capping new loans at 80% across all board (legal limit is 90%) and set a limit on bank valuation (regardless of market price). I think they may also start margin calls on existing loans that exceed 80%.

The banks are going moving into defensive modes taken during the Asian financial crisis.

Don't worry. Japan and China are not about to let Singapore sink beneath the waves. Singapore is still a major hub that their export trades rely on. Chinese banks will almost certainly step in to fill the gap.
