Has this ever happened to you?

I received an email from Sedo stating:

Congratulations! There is a new offer waiting for you on the domain name (domain name)

I looked at the domain name and realized that it was not parked at Sedo.

It was not a spam or phishing email. How did someone make an offer via Sedo if it was not parked there? I had parked it there many moons ago for a few days, but it has been parked at ND for nearly a year.

I moved it over to Sedo until I complete (or don't complete) negotiations.

Help?

Never happened but if the offer is good enough, why not? . Goodluck! IDNs have heated up. I've seen a lot of stuff going on behind the curtains...

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

This begs the question:

How is it possible to make on offer on a domain via Sedo if the domain is parked at ND?

Why wouldn't the offer be made through ND or just emailed to me? Don't you think that is very strange?

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

I think Sedo still list you in their DB.

Maybe the domain was still listed at Sedo? Do a search. Was it a latin-based domain? Like the ones supported by Sedo? It is strange that the offer isn't through e-mail or from ND...

In your Sedo account is there a valid offer?

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

Yes, it was a valid offer. It was still in the DB.

It seems strange/fishy that the offer was made via a specific search at Sedo rather than from the parking page or WHOIS.

It was a lowball offer for diseñoweb.biz

Hi burnsinternet,

This is the domain brokerage option.
See for example, here, if I wanted to buy Idnf.com: http://sedo.de/broker/index.php4?dom...om&language=us

So if you check for a domain not listed in their db, they give you the possibility to use their service of brokerage.

See U

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

DiseñoWeb.biz is now up for auction at Sedo.

This is 'web design' in Spanish.

The flipper are doing something similar here, listing on forums for sale, and then dropping it if it doesn't sell. If you consider the payment to dynadot a 5 days refundable deposit, it might well be short selling as well.
