Question NameDrive accessible from China?

I've had my Chinese IDN all parked with NameDrive and for weeks I'm getting absolutely zero traffic. Just want to know if NameDrive sites can actually be accessed from China?

Re: NameDrive accessible from China?

hmm...too bad!

I'm also trying to get an account with Dopa, but they haven't responded to my application for 2 weeks. Doesn't look like anything is happening there. They require 1000 UV per day in order to have an account, but without parking my names there, how can I know!!

Don't waste your time.

Dopa and Namerich are both garbage.

There is no good way to monetize Chinese traffic.

Take the time to build mini-sites on 1 or 2 high ovt Japanese domains and it will subsidize the rest of your portfolio.

Re: NameDrive accessible from China?

jacksonm, I thought many of you here are already making enough $$$ from parking.

so are there not enough Chinese traffic? or not able to monetize it? and what's the story with companies like Dopa?

Re: NameDrive accessible from China?

There is plenty of Chinese traffic, but no way to monetize it well.

Dopa and Namerich are the only two players in town. They are both next to useless.

You might earn like a half a cent a click on Dopa at BEST. I have lots and lots of 0.01 yuan clicks -- that's $0.001 (a tenth of a penny).

I had my portfolio on Dopa for a while and my RPM (earnings per thousand visitors) was 7.64 yuan. That's less than $1 per thousand visitors.

In short, it's not even worth the time to change the nameservers.

No, parking is not the answer to revenue when it comes to 99% of domains.

If Frank Schilling had to use parking revenue as a business model, I would venture to say that well over 90% of his domains would be lucky to earn reg fee per year - they would either need to be developed, sold, or dropped. The way he makes money, as far as I can tell, is by selling his "super targeted, super qualified" traffic to Yahoo and let Yahoo figure out how to sell it to their advertisers.
