環.net

I have been seeing a lot of views on this one. TDC has the dot com (since 2000), so it can't be too bad. Any opinions?

Re: 環.net

This character is used in both Traditional Chinese and Japanese. Means Ring/loop/hoop/bracelet. As you said with the .com regged for such a long time, probably a good domain..

Re: 環.net

I know that it somehow refers to circles, but I didn't know whether that was jewelry, metaphysics, geometry, astronomy, etc. or just circles/rings/hoops/circular things.

Lots of views, not clicks. Any ND theme ideas?

Re: 環.net

It refers to any subject, to expresses surrounding/circle/ring, as with many chinese/japanese words it is one of the parts of of compound word. Not really used by itself.

Some examples of it's use (in trad chinese - which i am more familar with)
環保 - environmental protection
環球 - global worldwide
環境 - environment/surrounding
耳環 - ear ring
光環 - halo
環抱 - embrace
環模 - ring die

Above you can see all words have a concept of surrounding/circle. This is because of the 環 character.
For Chinese the main use of the word would probably be for 環保 (environmental protection- environment), maybe you could try this for the theme?

Re: 環.net

OK, thanks!

Mystery solved, I think. When I search Google for Japanese pages only, the first result is kan dash net dot com.

Also, the corresponding wiki is not so commercial:

English: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_%28mathematics%29
Japanese: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%92%...95%B0%E5%AD%A6)
