Web Scammer Targets Senior U.S. Executives

Here's an article - http://online.wsj.com/public/article...f_main_tff_top

I'm sure that there are scammers that target domainers.

I've got infected by trojans twice. Always install a personal firewall, something like Zone Alarm that can catch any program trying to sending something to the internet.

Or just use a modicum of common sense ...

"such an email landed in the inbox of Scott Foernsler, head of global sales at Air2Web Inc., an Atlanta mobile messaging and marketing company. It informed him that a Better Business Bureau complaint had been filed against him and asked him to click an attached link to respond."

Idiot - never click a link in an email unless you are 100% sure you know where the link is taking you.

"The sender's email address: consumer-complaints@bbb.org."

so what, anyone can fake the sender address field.

"By clicking on the bogus complaint link, he had downloaded software that was sending anything he then inputted online -- such as passwords, credit-card numbers, usernames, banking information and personal browsing -- to a Web site controlled by a criminal."

Not sure I believe that. I have never downloaded anything from the web without my browser asking me first.

Sure, if this was my granny being duped, I would feel sorry for her. But the story is all about high-powered web execs who apparently have no idea how the web works or how to take basic safety precautions.
