Have you lost faith in Arabics due to no progress with aliasing?

It seems to me like aliasing is a dead deal, at least for the time being. If you've lost faith in aliasing, which is certainly needed for arabics, and you just want to cut your losses now then PM me and I'll see what I can do.


Requirements:

- minimum 1 year old
- no trademarks
- no accents
- no typos (dictionary spellings only)
- dot coms, or dot com/dot net pairs only (no dot nets on their own)
- must have more than 200 US OVT
- must have google trends showing independently for at least 4 countries


Don't bother to PM if you are want more than $xx per name, this is only for those who want to cut their losses.

Logic tells me Arabic might be the first on board for aliasing since that may be the best practical solution.

Why do you think we need aliasing to make Arabics work? I think we all get traffic to them now. They are no worse than Asian IDNs for traffic.

And com is most suitable for Arabic language since multiple countries are using this language makes the cctlds less valuable.

The Arabs are shrude investors, and if they can afford to by their own A380's then they can certainly afford a few IDN.

Because of the recent ICANN meeting - they appear to be fixated with the idea of creating new IDN.IDN gTLD and watching them fail first. They did not release a single promising statement about aliasing existing gTLD, only ccTLD.

For search traffic, yes they currently work fine.

I have a feeling that the big sales and type-in won't come with ascii extension, though.

Oh, well. Nothing we can do about it from here. The best thing to do right now is wait it out and gauge traffic.

We waited for IE7. Now we wait for the IDN.whatever moves. Maybe IDN.IDN will help spur interest in IDN.ascii. Maybe not. One more year of renewals and waiting. Same as it ever was.

We have gone through this time and time again and we just seem to be getting nowhere.

Verisign will apply for Extension. If it gets them, it can simply elect to use them as aliases if it so choses, which of course it will. There really is no sound reason that Verisign should not get what it wants. It is not going to try to alias to a ccTLD or dot Mobi, now is it?

The only aliases that matter are the dot com aliases. The first question people will ask is how do you type dot Com in Arabic.

From a speculators perspective, you either register some or you don't. Doesn't matter how much bollocks you talk, you will not persuade me to part with mine cheaply!

Not true. com is good, .net is good [in arabic only--other languages i like to stick strictly with .com]. In some cases I prefer com over net, but for others net is better than com. Kinda hard to explain, but Arabic is the one language where .net seems to be at the same level with com. IMO, of course.
