I am looking to buy a US city .com domain name, and I am willing to pay up to $50,000 for the name.

Requirements:

1) City should have 50,000 or more residents
2) The domain name should be the correct exact spelling of the city
3) Domain name must be a .com

Err ... no. He says "up to $50,000 per name", not $50,000 for 50,000 inhabitants - not the same thing at all.

Ok, ic, clever. Never mind, but most city name sales are more than $1 a person:

e.g.

Penticton, BC, 41,574 pop, $75,000.

Buckhead, Atlanta, 100,000+ pop, $250,000.

Buckhead is not a city, it's the name of a very rich Atlanta neighborhood. I've driven through there before and the houses looked like they were all the type that only sports starts could afford to live in.

I think buckhead.com could have probably went for more than it did.

Elliot’s going to be hard pressed to find a US city.com representing a 50,000 population for only 50K. You could easily make 50K a year in revenue from the hotel and real estate sections alone.

I remembered digipawn bought another city but i can't find the name. There are very few city sales reported.
