Search Wars spread to South Asia

Just tried searching local characters in Yahoo and MSN.

It would seem that most language groups are now supported for search in Local Characters. Languages tried are:

Russian, Arabic, Thai, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.

This just shows how much importance is being given by the big three to globalize their markets through localisation!

Note that MSN has still not managed to convert URLs from Punycode so there will be no indexing of IDN.
