Anyone get one of these emails before...?
Quote:
Hello,
This is an automated mail to inform you that our advertising partner, Google, will no longer return advertising to the following domain(s):
xn--xxxxxxxxxx.com
xn--xxxxxxxxxx.com
The reasons for this are usually:
- Adsense abuse on the domain by a previous owner
- A complaint by a trademark owner
- Google find the name offensive (adult, drugs etc) and no longer wish to monetize the domain
As Google are our advertising partner, we can unfortunately no longer return advertising to the domain in question.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at info@namedrive.com.
Your ND team

This was for two of my Japanese cities parked with them.
No adult, drug or offensive advertising were ever on these - unless Namedrive put it on there!
Only a couple of views on each for the last month as well.
What gives??
Any ideas guys?

Re: Anyone get one of these emails before...?
I got one from ND a while back for no apparent reason. I shrugged it off and moved it to Sedo.

Bizarre
They are driving away their own business for no apparent reason...
Their loss!
Your domain perform any better at Sedo?

Email Ed at ND and ask him. Are you sure they are from NameDrive?

They seem to be...
Sent by admin@namedrive.namedrive.com
I wondered if they were phishing emails, but they're not asking for any account details...

Re: Anyone get one of these emails before...?
I received one of those today for 3 domains. One .jp and two .com - two were totally generic domains no offensive setting. The other was an adult site - didn't even know google was serving ads to it. No big loss there.

Read my signature. This is an excerpt from an email conversation I had with Google last week about trying to run an ad to an IDN site.
It may be that these mails from Google to ND are also automated, and *many* more of them will come soon.

A vanity URL is a domain name, typically created by a company to point to a specific product or advertising campaign microsite. In theory, vanity URLs are creatively linked to a product or ad concept and easier to remember than a company's general domain. However, in practice, vanity URLs can be difficult to remember unless printed on a medium that can be taken with a user to a web browser.

Just lifted this from Wiki...don't see how generic IDN's fit this category!

Any IDN, plain and simple. They do not allow UTF-8 characters unless you somehow convince them under manual review, and you see what they told me as I was trying to set an Arabic domain in the display url field.

Well in my case, unless they hold the trademark for Kyoto Real Estate I don't get it .. maybe this is some form of revenge for the sub-prime fiasco .. :o:p
Anyway, I emailed Ed to ask what is going on.

Well if they try that, I guess I will have to do some development, to inform people what a backward sh*t hole the place really is!
