Re: Domain blocked by advertiser

I think we need a private invite-only forum anyway. Even the "members area" here is open to anybody with an email address.

Re: Domain blocked by advertiser

I suggested to Jose the other day that we convert DNLocal to precisely that. Anyone else think that might be a good idea? This place get pretty private most of the time, as it gets impossible to log on when 3 people turn up at once!

Re: Domain blocked by advertiser

I was thinking about that a couple days ago. I was even going to go ahead and buy a domain, but didn't want to maintain a forum. I was also going to post it up on DNL but I couldn't post a thread!

It would need to exclude any untrustworthy people from having access to the knobs before I would participate (assuming I would even be invited)...

Oh well, this site crashes all day long but it does seem to effectively remember and apply the contents of my ignore list (1). The unfortunate architectural flaw is that the site doesn't provide me with the capability to prevent the ignoree from reading anything that I post.

Re: Domain blocked by advertiser

Agree for some discussions - would be useful...

Guess issue would be who got invited to join (and who decides list )...
I would run it, if someone else helped moderate it - but I am afraid that I would not get invited to join - lol

Cheers - Asiaplay

Alot of us are premium members here and we do have that option to start utilizing that part of the forum more.

You have to pay a small annual fee to become a premium member.
Gives you an upgrade to 2000 pm's stored in your account as well.

Re: Domain blocked by advertiser

I just received the following email from ND. Unfortunately, they seem to have pasted Unicode into an ASCII email, rather than using Punycode.

Quote:
Due to a misunderstanding with our advertising partner, some of your domains were incorrectly marked as blocked on our system. We're happy to say that, for the domains below, we have managed to resolve the situation and the domains are now live again on the NameDrive system. We will work on moving them out of your Blocked Folder over the next 24 hours to ensure that everything is returned back to normal.

If you have any domains which were marked as blocked this week but are not listed below as resolved, we are still working to resolve the issues on these domains. If we can get the domains unblocked, then we will inform you by mail.

They might be testing their adult blocking in an effort to start allowing IDN display URLs for Adwords.

If this is the case, then it's fine - I only have a handful of adult domains anyway.

Re: Domain blocked by advertiser

Non-adults blocked today. I was knocking on wood from the time this thread started.

It is odd, but every time I praise NameDrive IDN parking on another forum, something bad happens to my domains.

Anything blocked I will just move over to another parking program. I just have to change DNS. They are all set up because of the last NameDrive problem. Apologies or not, I will not have good domains down for a week or a weekend because someone was eager to pull a trigger.

Last time cost me a lot of time and some money. Always have a backup plan.

I love ND, but I will not let them hurt me again.

<OK, the below response was a response to Blast's post, but it somehow disappeared. That really ticks me off when you just delete your own posts, Blast.>

Try getting thousands blocked on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Spent the whole weekend moving domains over and optimizing. It really took a week before everything was straightened out.

Now I know my other options, but I prefer NameDrive.
