Well, according to the DNS, xn-- is the domain name.

Its the price we pay for the "A" in IDN"A". Its up to applications to deal with translating puyncode into unicode. And Mozilla have decided in their little huddle not to bother unless some "random" anti-phishing measures are implemented.

Fair? No. But you have you to understand. The way IDNs are implemented means that each and every application out there has the choice what to do when confronted with xn-- as a domain name.
