I don't know how to explain this, but this word in plural seems to have sense only in phrase or sentence:

Мы заказали 3 пиццы домой - каждому по большому кругу.

We ordered 3 pizzas - 3 big pizza-pies for everyone.

Or. May be the form is right, but no one use it in meaning of plural form. So when You say пиццы - people think about form like "доставка пиццы" (pizza delivery) but not just пиццы (pizzas). If there are more native speakers - please, correct me if I wrong.

This seems to be occurring more and more, issues regarding the attention of a MOD and no MODs online. Maybe IDNF should add another MOD or 2. Seamo has to sleep sometime, 2 years without sleep

my understanding tells me that it is not a grammatical error to say пиццы alone but it makes no sense and is not used which for that reason wont make a good domain.

I spoke with Ajiotaj through ICQ and he stated that it confused him because word ПИЦЦЫ is not only a plural of pizza but also is a genitive declension of word pizza - the form used in expression Pizza Delivery.

Nevertheless, word pizzas in Russian is rarely used as stand alone, mostly when you want to conway an idea of quantity, for example if you want to say "I ordered 3 pizza-pies" - you would use it in plural as ПИЦЦЫ.

Although in everyday speech Russian people would rather use singular form, the same as in English, the word has a good value as domain name for the following reasons:

1. Word ПИЦЦЫ (yes - the plural form) appears in Google Trends - which for me personally is always a reason enough to register and keep the name.

2. Any person speaking Russian when hears this word - immediately knows what is this [website] about and immediately realizes that it's not about one kind (or maker) of pizza.

3. Though having pizza in singular is preferred - if available or/and affordable, this plural form can make a great domain name for a successful information portal or a profitable parking page - due to importance of the word itself.
