Thanks. The thing that puzzles me is I don't see any pictures of gems or stones in the "Images" section of Google. It makes me think there is another meaning. Any ideas?

Ngọc is also a common Vietnamese name (I have a brother in-law by that name), which would explain why you are seeing so many results for things other than gems (namely people).
