A different type of auction

OK, so this is not a domain auction. Mod delete the thread if you feel it inappropriate.


On auction here is my self-programmed tool for checking available domains from a list.

Some details:

- utilizes the dynadot api (you must have your own dynadot api key)

- written in perl, command line tool (run it from your server or shell of your hosting provider) - command line is better so you can schedule it to run automated, etc.

- outputs a logfile that tells which domains are available and which are not

- works with arbitrarily long lists of punycode (biggest one I tried so far was a 19k long list of Russian)

- takes about 5 minutes per 1000 domains

- many hours of development, testing and debugging went into the production of this code, and I feel that it is pretty much rock solid now.

One note, anybody who has spent more than 500 usd at dynadot in the past year has an API key even if you know it or not. I will show you how to find it.
