I think you would need to establish a bit of credibility to even receive a reply. Providing an indication of budget might be a start!

I think what I was trying to convey is that sellers will only discuss their better names or even disclose their holding to individuals that they trust to negotiate in good faith.

Starting with a top name with a trader rating of zero, and without any kind of external reputation probably means you don't even get to join the start line up.

The point is that domains of the ilk you listed have probably never sold. If you contacted the owner directly from the Whois details, even if you have access to them, they probably wouldn't even reply. They are unlikely to, unless they believe you had access to that kind of money. I haven't even seen anything to suggest you would part with 500 Bucks!

Does anyone here hold those top-tier IDN.cn? I thought they were all regged by TDC or the Snows long ago.

You are deliberately missing the point. To negotiate at this level you have to "pre qualify". The fact that you haven't blackened your record other than with a few asinine remarks just won't cut it. If you are a bona fide unknown then a personal recommendation from a trusted mutual contact would obviously be the way forward.

On the US economy, it is clear that it is heading exactly where I predicted it would. If you believe Bush, Paulson or Bernanke then you are a bigger fool than I took you for!

Top idn.cn are mostly in chinese hands, speculators, end users and the nic (reserved).

The situation is quite different from .jp, many which were still available early 2006. That's how the lot of us here ended up with lots of prime chinese .com, japanese .com/.jp but very few chinese .cn.
