ICANN is leaving the nest

Looks like ICANN is finally going its own way, requesting to operate independently from the US govt.

Are you kidding? The last time they mentioned this, Condoleeza Rice traveled to Europe and gave a very harsh series of speeches to the European Union backers of ICANN's plan.

They can try to fly the coup, but the US isn't going to let it happen without a *major* fight. For the US to cooerce the Swiss govt into stopping this, it's small in comparison to how they managed to cooerce Swiss banks to disallow US citizens or Arabs to open Swiss bank accounts anymore.

Let me know when the major swiss banks change their policy; I've got some money to deposit.

I think things are starting to move on.

Switzerland is very 1930's. I think the new banking centre for the Super Rich is probably Dubai, but there will be others such as Singapore, Goa.
