I agree, sex.net and the likes are not meaningful at all, but somehow these names fetch the most money on ebay.
I sold héll.com/net for $22 just recently, I am glad I got rid of it.

speculation: if sex.com gets tens of thousands of type-ins a day, perhaps the IDN would get a hundred or two a day... from people used to typing the letter e with an accent, or just curious as to what it leads to.

Nice theory, but I believe it is the S which is the imposter. It would seem that it is a character from the Macedonian Language.

Must be a complete arsehole. r.com is IANA reserved so it is not registered. A quick, whois would have told him that! If r.com was available it would probably be worth the thick end of $100M.

As Skolt only has about 400 speakers in the Arctic, I think we can assume the main interest will be Romany.
