Crackdown Fails to Stem Counterfeit Username

IDN — On just about any busy city street in China, nothing seems as real as a fake username-brand bargain. Foreigners and other shoppers quickly get used to hearing counterfeiters chant, "Alphamale, Markits, Rubber Duck."

The Chinese government says it's cracking down, reportedly seizing 39 fake usernames products in the first month of 2008. But China's battle against username pirates has a long way to go.

Asked if she feels bad about buying domains from fake usernames at hundreds or even thousands of dollars off their retail price, Jones says, "No, not at all. When I see the price difference, I don't really care."

RD, it is up to you to say where we should go now. If you tell us that we all should move to dnlocal, I think most here will follow.

If it does not work as public forum, we will turn it into a private board.

What I am not going to tolerate is persistent disruption as we have had here. I don't mind people telling me I am wrong, but sustained personal attacks and endless rubbish will get you banned.

I am not convinced that this is necessary, but it is an option. I am happy to start with a clean sheet as long as Jose is happy to Administer it. Please start a thread at the existing forum and I we monitor opinion on that one.
