　日本レジストリサービス（JPRS）は、Internet Explorer 7日本語版が日本語ドメイン名へ標準対応していることを周知させるニュースレターを公開した。

　同ニュースレターの公開は、2月13日よりWindows XPユーザーを対象に開始されるInternet Explorer 7日本語版の自動更新による配布をうけたもの。日本語ドメインは、「駅街ガイド.jp」のように漢字やひらがな、カタカナなどを使ったJPドメイン名を指し、現在約14万件の日本語JPドメイン名が登録されている。なお、日本語JPドメイン名の最後の「.jp」は全角で「。ｊｐ」と入力してもアクセスが可能だ。

　JPRSでは、Internet Explorer 7日本語版の自動更新により、日本語JPドメインの利用がいっそう進むものとみている。

Perhaps but that would be sad given the lack of decent games to play on that system. Well at least you can lend the horsepower to science!

Xbox Live is the largest source of high definition content in the world today. More HD downloads have been consumed to date, it puts both HDTV and Blue-Ray to shame as a channel.

Maybe, but your the only person I ever hear talk about Xbox these days. Nobody in my social sphere ever mentions it. All I ever hear is Wii and PS3.

XBox still rules the roost with teenagers.
Hard to touch these top 3 games (with teens in our area at least.)
-Halo 3
-Guitar Hero/ Rock Band
-Call of Duty

Not sure if these play on any other systems, but these games (and a recent release- Assasin's Creed)
are pretty much the top games for the 13-21 age group.

And the over-30s. Can't get enough of Halo.

We are yet to see the Au impact on Japanese traffic on Japanese idns. So far, the AU news only resulted in an increased North American hits to Japanese idns.

To get high volume, deliberate type-in traffic, the majority of the people need to know that this AU is bringing IDN, and what IDN means.

Hell, Fedora Linux can ping unicode domains now, but I just discovered it by accident. Nowhere in the release notes of version such and such did it mention in big red blinking letters that I can now ping unicode domain names! I guarantee you that a year after this feature was introduced, 99% of people still don't know about it.

Mario Brothers etc. may rule with the younger set.
