Re: China's Internet

Not all broadband is equal. I had "broadband" in Beijing and connection was never at speed I have come accustom to.

This site is fun:
Beijing
http://www.speedtest.net/global.php?...n=336&city=949

Austin
http://www.speedtest.net/global.php?...ion=38&city=46

London is out of control:

Re: China's Internet

Maybe not the quickest broadband, but unlimited uploads and downloads and the cheap price is nice. It's much better than Australia value wise in China.

Also the stats on speedtest.net just shows the fastest possible, doesn't indicate anywhere the percentage of people using a provider.

the broadband in china only works within china itself. accessing us sites, you go through the great firewall. everything slows down considerably.

Re: China's Internet

That was probably the difference for me since most I wanted to access were based in US or Europe.
