I purchased some 8 months ago the alexa top 100,000 list and registered several .com domains of large websites with cctlds.
Those domains receive some type-in (go to the website and click on "more info" for detailed stats), but the main source of value should be because the owner of the large cctld website may want to have also the .com domain.

note: the buyer can have for free the alexa top 100k list, if he/she wishes it. It's a little old now, but it can be useful in order to register domains with traffic, especially large .co.jp websites that have disappeared recently (but some traffic remain).

The Alexa bar is said to be the most highly used in Korea. If I remember well, Japan is also a country with a strong utilization of the bar. That means that Alexa may be useful to compare rankings of Japanese websites in the same sector, but also that Japan websites rankings will tend to be overrated.

Well may be but it sounds strange as Alexa.co.jp doesn't resolve and Alexa.com doesn't have any languages other than English.
