dot asia

Really amazing what the idiots will buy. If the shoe fits, wear it.

Just out of curiosity, I checked a few very odd LLL and NNN - those spaces appear to be fully taken. It would also appear that NNNN is fully taken.

Un freakin believable.

EDIT: RickSchwartz.asia LMAO

Re: dot asia

I think I read somewhere that NNN and LLL .asia domains were not released to the general public just yet.

Re: dot asia

Domains are a bubble, particularly in the US.

It will all end in tears, and most those crying live at Namepros. Now that is a misnomer if ever there was one!

Re: dot asia

The basic problem with domains is that no two are the same. It is therefore impossible to benchmark value. This tends to mean, because business.com or beer.com fetch a lot of money, everyone thinks that mylateststupid.idea is also going to be worth bags of money. The craze is strongest in America, where a substantial proportion of the population will be queueing at Soup Kitchens in the coming months and possibly years. Those that have piled into all these crappy domains are likely to be amongst those that feel the pinch. This is not just going to be a blue collar recession. Indeed, blue collar workers might even be less affected than white collar. A heck of a lot of domains are going to get junked and a lot of them will pass through Snapnames without as much as a murmur.

You missed ManilaEscorts.asia, but somebody else didn't. Don't ask me where I come up with these names to check, they are really just wild ass guesses to come up with something which I believe would not be taken this early. The funny thing is that it's not taken in any other extensions than com and net, so americans are traveling abroad really going to be the target audience for this dot asia extension.

Maybe, but Hols.asia gives me the feel of someone marketing something they know sod all about, which in your case is probably totally wrong, but it nevertheless has a really plastic ring about it.

I detect the pangs of jealousy - you know very well what Hols are and asia is east /or west of Yorkshire. And marketing hols in asia - hmmm -very plastic.

Actually having seen the superb development of both hols.com/net/org this should be a no brainer to make a few dollars.

Can't wait to get the idn.asia version - ah - but what language - maybe I will have dibs on them all.

But I must agree with Ross, many of the regs are actually worse than the .mobi's!

No, to be jealous, I would actually have to be interested in acquiring dot Asia.

As I have made no attempt to acquire ASCII for investment purposes in over 4 years, that does seem a little unlikely.

It is actually quite amazing how many people on Namepros & other forums are gambling/throwing away a ton of money into the .asia extention, even regging names that would hardly be worth much in the major extentions, let along the .asia extention, if it ever gains a bit of value to it.

Take a look at this showcase thread, it's already 20 pages long with many shockers being regged: http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...tion-asia.html

Then you've got the threads like:

Will .asia be bigger than .com? What is your prediction? http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...-com-what.html

Will .asia be bigger than .tv? What is your prediction? http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...n-tv-what.html

Will .asia be bigger than .eu? What is your prediction? http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...n-eu-what.html

Re: dot asia

I told someone that I felt like .asia was a piece of crap and they got very emotional. OH WELL. THATS LIFE.

People are reg'in crap. Hell, I'd reg SEX.ASIA if it were available. Screw it. But the stuff some people are reg'in is just way 2 awkward.

Exactly. Anything worth regging is reserved.

I suspect there are about 100 names I'd take, given a chance at regfee. Stuff like country names, big city names, business, sex, porn, etc. Anything else just isn't worth this shitty extension, IMO.

Wonder how many the Snows picked up...
