We know Olney wants 10K for the name.

But what do you think is the right price for the name and its admin right?

Does IDNForums.com really have the commercial value of $10K (including its future potentials)?

Or is it highly overpriced?

Note: This is just a brain exercise and it's not that I am interested in buying the name.

Without giving any love and care to the site, I think it's worth no more than $1,000. I think Giant's offer at $5,000 to Glow for IdnForum.com is a generous one. And Glow was even more generous to even have offered to donate it for the benefit of the community at large, prior to Giant coming up with the offer.

I personally think the IdnForum.com name is even better than IdnForums.com from the Asian perspective since in Thai, Chinese, Japanese and many of the other Asian languages we don't generally have plural forms for terms. Ofcourse, IdnForums has its SEO advantage and the fact that it contains some of the contents that may be useful for archiving and reference purposes. So I think IdnForums is worth no more than $5,000 in my opinion and its value is going South if the ship is left to sink. Perhaps either Joe or MJ could consider giving Craig the offer they seem suitable with the timeline that if he doesn't accept it, say within a week, the offer is null and void and the next best option is to go with IdnForum.com with no going back and let IdnForums.com gracefully go like Titanic.

I exchanged a few e-mails with Craig, my intention being to see if any type of "partnership" (perhaps with IDNF senior members) could be set up for ownership of the fourm. He was not interested in this option.

To summarize what was said:
1) The forum is NOT up for sale and was not up for sale.
2) Gary solicited Craig to buy it and whatever deal was discussed, Gary is one of the persons he would consider selling it to.
3) To the right person, Craig may be willing to discuss a sale.

If only it were that simple!

Craig doesn't have to negotiate with anyone, but it is perhaps time that for his sake as well as everyone else's he thought about doing the decent thing and try to resolve the issue on an equitable basis.

Actually, if that was the way we did business, the forum would have disappeared months ago.
