Not really.

I just found it "very interesting" to see a sale of .jp name with SLD that I cannot even type in with Japanese IME ( that I am in use now ).

Did you mention in the sales thread that the character, 灣, is hardly in use in present day Japan or that the domain name is Chinese.jp instead of Japanese.jp? If so, I think there's no problem.
