What do these domiains mean and are they of any value?

I recently purchased these domains and I thought they were the correct translation but now I'm not sure.

Japanese domains

つの仕事.com - supposedly work.com

電子お金.com - supposedly emoney.com

Thanks

Re: What do these domiains mean and are they of any value?

電子 is electronic

お金 is money

But they are not used together. By themselves, they would be valuable.

There's no value to this made-up term, sorry.

Always check search results at google.co.jp for Japanese terms. Remember to put "" around the terms.

"電子お金" gets 40! results.

"つの仕事" gets 303K.

Sorry but neither look like very popular terms. The first few image results on つの仕事 look like book labels. Not sure what that means.

Re: What do these domiains mean and are they of any value?

303k would seem like a decent number of pages returned. 303k for the term work is definately on the very low side for the term however. I would expect it to be in the several million pages range. Maybe a native speaker could elaborate a little more on what this means and why it returns 303k?

Well 16% of mobile phone users in Japan use their phones to purchase and pay for things. This is called e-money or electronic money and is a growing industry.

Re: What do these domiains mean and are they of any value?

I guess I'll make a few more rules tha you guys can find around the internet

Olney's Rule #2
Don't try to piece together two seperate word's translation & think it will equally the translation of certain technology.

Common terms for technolgy should be within the pages of sites & companies that offer these services.

Most technolgy terms have a name. Even if you guys can't find OVT stats technolgy, services are already abundant & rapidly expanding. Relly on if you can find the term as main words for a company...

Re: What do these domiains mean and are they of any value?

I'm referring to finding the translation for electric + money
I know that's a real word but the combo in Japanese isn't the same when you do literal translations..

Re: What do these domiains mean and are they of any value?

電子マネー is the common translation here, and guess who owns the .com

A comparison might be to argue that it's possible to say that "gender = sex" in many contexts in English (what sex/what gender is...), but "hot gender" means nothing at all.

Re: What do these domiains mean and are they of any value?

Edwin has been very helpful to a lot of folks here. I don't think he ever put down anybody. He's doing us all a favor by pointing out mistakes we make when registering IDNs. That's a HUGE help. And he's only making a point that the domain you thought you got had already been registered.

Personally, I haven't been able to find the put-down... and what fun is it if you can't brag a little about your good registrations?

Yes, it should be called "Pimp My Domain" or something like this.

I thought Appraise was latin for "Look what I Got Y'all"
