Hiring Ariya as Thailand's Country Manager focussing on business development is part of the plan to open an office in Thailand.

ZDnet also reported here (http://www.zdnetasia.com/blogs/inter...e-62300774.htm) that:

"The team covering Thailand is currently based out of Google's Singapore office but, as the scale of work in Thailand increases, can we expect a Google office in Bangkok anytime soon?
Yes, we can confirm Google will be opening an office in Thailand within this year, however, we have nothing further to announce at this time."

Google has already opened its second office in Malaysia (http://www.google.com.sg/intl/en/job...ons/index.html) as a second South East Asia location and now local office in Thailand has been confirmed.
