Can somone explain, the "the" is not put in front of proper nouns? Right?

Yes, generally, but not definit. You will not say الأحمد (TheAhmad) for a proper noun, but there are lots and exceptions. For example you can say الكويت (TheKuwait) and السعودية (TheSaudiArabia), but you can never say القطر (TheQatar) or المصر (TheEgypt). I'm really not sure why.

Also الأحمد (TheAhmad) is never used for a single name, but TheName is a popular way of writing family names (like الصباح TheSabah, ruling family in Kuwait)

تاج (crown) and التاج (TheCrown) are both fine (first one is a little better)
