How to translate a common name?

Hi all,

I would like to register some IDN but I don't know how to translate first common names I want to register.
For instance, say I would like to register the name "forum-IDN" in chinese, japanese, and so on...
So my initial problem should to translate first "forum" in chinese and in japanese, and then to register my chinese and japanese IDN.
I don't believe than altavista or other free translation software translate also in chinese or japanese.
Any clue about that?
Many thanks.

You can use the Google Language Tool which is essentially Babel Fish.

Alternatively have a look in the Members ONLY Tips and Resources. I have already posted there on translations. I also have one to add.

If translating into an unfamiliar foriegn language, try and keep it short and simple. We cannot be sure how each set of users will deal with spaces between words and phrases are more problematic to translate than individual words. Always back check if possible by using Overture or Google to demonstrate that you have a word in common usage. Sometimes a hot keyword will translate accurately into something that is not so hot!

Best Regards
