Everything seems too good.

Everything seems too good the past six months or so, the world economy is doing well, the real estate prices are up, people got used to the higher gas prices and interest rates, and there had not been any major natural or man-made disaster. What do you guys think?

Well, things haven't been so bloody good on the Microsoft browser front, but apart from that it is all coming up roses. We have our portfolios, there is increasing evidence of traffic, half decent PPC seems to be just around the corner, there is a developing after market, and Vint is going to give us all Dnames for Christmas. I think Bill will be playing Scrouge in this year's Panto!

Re: Everything seems too good.

Not in the US.

There's increasing inflation primarily in gas and raw materials, leading to increased interest rates, slowing of economic growth, greater mortgage defaults, lower home prices, yada yada yada.

Asia on the other hand, is a different story. IDN is one way we gain exposure to real growth.

The delay on microsoft end is a small issue, it will happen sooner or later and the likelihood of them suddenly announcing removal of IDN support at the last minute is very low.

About this DNAME, how would you know we're getting it in 8 mths? We have not even found out what the extensions are, e.g. the chinese .com extension.

Is it? I read news reports saying inflation is under control and the Feds might slow down the increase in interest rates. If inflation is really increasing, then the Iran issue will be very important ....

The interest rate increases will stop because they are worried about a slowing economy. Economic growth for the rest of the year is supposed to be slow considerably.

What was the saying? There's lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Seriously, though, I believe the official CPI indicator is not a reliable gauge of real inflation. Lots of reading material available if you google "understated CPI inflation".

No idea!!

I'm down to about 10 ASCII from about 50 a few months ago. I'll chalk that up to domain learning experience.

My ASCII are admitedly crap like "progamingleague", which is probably my best!

How do they protect the dollar if they don't continue to raise interest rates?

Didn't somebody once famously say "Microsoft is the US Economy"?

Oh! Sh*t!
