Re: Affiliate Program translation

Hi alpha,

I am not familiar with many affiliate programs in the arab world

but the word is a new technological term and it doesn't have a clear translation

the literal translation of your word is "follower"

the other 2 words combination are sticked together ... so drop it

feel free to ask anytime

regards

hmmm i suspected somthing like that.

I hired an Egyptian translator to do a whole load of Arabic words for me, and I just wasn't sure about these two. She did try to warn me off compound terms... but I didn't listen.

thanks for your comments.

edit: just a thought.. so does that mean then that single word arabic idn's will most likely see a faster growth in value, as most compound terms are illegible, and therefore there will be less domain names to go round?

you are asking something very far in the future

what is the next thing after single words ( by the way my arabic dictionary contains 750,000 of single words )

I would say adding "the" or "ال" before the name is the next thing

that would make millions of words

after that , umm ... hard to say may be something else other than IDNs

Compound terms only work if the final and intermediate forms of the last letter of the first word are the same. Sometimes you get lucky

Hyphenated terms are possilbe but beware the Arabs have their own hyphen I believe. Goes right to left. You wouldn't think it would make a difference but it does!

LOL.

Yes it was a long-term question. But from I understand, there are many ways to write the same word, for example isn't there 99 ways to write "god" (apparently the 100th is in the Quran somewhere) - but surely not all of those 99 are used, there must be extremes of popular and not very common.

If you apply this same logic to all 750k words, maybe the common words will run out not too far into the future - it could be as little as 20-30 years!!

I get your point. thanks.
