Hi everybody...

My name is Arbel, i decided for the first time ever, to open a blog about the Domain Name industry, in Hebrew !

This is the first time that a blog is giving you all the news & information about the domain industry, in Hebrew.

If you don't know how to read Hebrew, please click on the upper left link for English Version, its not exactly English but you can get the big Pic...

Welcome to the forum.

There have been some Hebrew IDN sales, some are listed at IDNTools.com. Some have been private.

What's your impression of Hebrew IDNs?

I don't have a solid opinion about Hebrew IDNs, i think not a lot of people are aware of IDNs...its all about the sales...i am not aware of any big IDNs domain sales... but again its only my knowledge.

Welcome to the forum. Curious, what percentage of people in Israel would you estimate read English? Seems only logical that an advertiser would want a URL that everyone can read and most important, easily be able to remember.

Been getting some inquiries on a couple of my Hebrew IDNS, just recently...looks like things are starting to heat up.
Should be a breakout year for Hebrew IDNS, and most other IDNS, as well.

Arbel, you would do well to take Michael (261275) up, on his offer...he is a wealth of knowledge, as are many others here.

Welcome to IDNO...

I have started hand registering Hebrew IDN's.

Unfortunately, I am double registering 2 word submissions.
The two words together, and with hyphens.

DENIC came out and said 40% of dot DE's have hyphens....
And hyphens are needed in Arabic 2 word and 3 word domains...

With reference to Israel and English proficiency...It is very high...but again...
the mobile web on phones in Israel ...is Hebrew...
so I am very optimistic for dot com IDN's there...

but singular/ plural.........and the use of 'the' prefix for branding a dot com will just have to play itself out...similarly for Arabic words it seems...

I think the cctld registry there is way behind in going to IDN dot IL straight up, or IDN.IDN .
The emphasis has been dot co dot il .

Sbe18 - IMO be very selective about using 'the' prefix in hebrew. It is not as prevelent as in arabic, and only fits special cases. Google trends can help. Whereas arabic keywords may have similar Google trends with and without 'the', Hebrew keywords will always favor without (usually by a huge margin). And iMHO itks not yet time to look at 'brandable' domains in Hebrew.

I think it's more about IDN websites appearing in the mainstream.

Sales, not so much.

Seeing IDN domains appear in advertising gets me a lot more excited than hearing about a big sale.

This is what concerns me.

You say there are few domainers in Israel, and that you will be an ambassador for domaining and show them how its done with your tips and techniques and educate them.

but you have another site at thedomainsworld.com don't you

that has very recently mysteriously been taken down after someone outed you on your blog.
