Finally found the 2 PDF's that were handed out for new GTLD's and ccTLD IDN fast track sessions in Sydney.
the ppt's had been posted below.
this is the material handed out to the press and to the general audience at the break-out sessions.
double page , double sided so they were probably printed and double folded.
2 Major points for IDNF member use with newbies and end users :
GTLD piece specifically refers to IDN GTLD's outright as expected, anticipated, and welcome in the 2010 window.
And the cctld fast track is referred to with 4Q2009 implementation.... post the Korea meeting....( probably on the fee/ voluntary stuff needs to finished)
But these are not tech documents nor PPT slides.
They really are clear and direct FAQ points .
I think they are very authoritative and very direct .
Also acknowledges that IDN second levels have been working for a decade...
finally .....that canard is not being used any longer...
the tone that 'true ' IDN's are IDN.IDN only is being dropped.
Certainly, JPRS is a reason ....since they seem to realize the dot JP is going to be typed straight ahead until they get the designation arrangements settled.
I think CNNIC realizes that people are going to type dot CN to save on the keystrokes on phones.. ISP's are reporting which of the 4 URL's get used.
and IDN.cn via mobile browsers is dominating from the ASCII.cn habit.
I believe JPRS and Korea will see the same exact thing in 2010 as well.
dot JP and dot KR are brands just like dot com.
