I'm not sure how to translate 财务 into English. It's related to accounting and finance, but it is not finance. 金融 is finance.

Yes, you're right. There is no proper word in English can 财务 be translated to.

财 is finance, and 务 is the work done on 财 or matters concerning 财. Accounting is certainly one main area of 财务, besides venture investment, IPO, tax....

So, let's call it "finance" :-)

As far as i know, the common usage is, 财务 = finance = 金融,

金融 is more likely to be related to banking business (macro)
财务 is more likely to be related to personal issues (micro)

If you insist to break it into pieces, it can be translated
金融 = monetary consolidation
财务 = financial affairs
But trust me, this translation is rare.

I think that's the best translation. The English word "finance" is very broad and Chinese for "money-related" words is more specific.

Henceforth, the english "finance" is actually more valuable than any of the "finance" related chinese words.

财务 might be more common than 金融, but big money is involved in banking.
