What? DOT.NET? Do .net still worth THAT much?
Two days ago a member here was calling .net "a funny looking thing"

Both. But if you want to know who has most of the Dot Nets see Bill. He got my lists when I was through registering the Dot Coms.

For .net Geos, DNJournal...scroll down to 2nd half "Global Contenders", sale # 33 @ $10k...there have been larger, but not all reported.

I wouldn't get stressed out about it really.[Moscow].com didn't become general knowledge until about 12 Months after it was sold and was never "officially" verified, but I have no doubts that it was indeed a genuine sale because one of the parties consulted over acquisitions at the time the sale was supposed to have gone through. Unfortunately, at the moment you know what you know, and you have to trust your instincts regarding what you are told, but if you wait for documentary evidence then you will be waiting forever.

RD,
I'm not personally into .net.
Just trying to understand the IDN market better.

Sometimes the .com just isn't available at ANY price.
IMO...for the Geos and Cities, the .nets hold much greater value than the reg fees if you have a long term hold strategy.
Of course...if you started off paying 10k you might have needed your head examined anyway.

I don't agree. I think .nets are valued correctly under the current market conditions. People can pick up some very good idn .coms these days for under $100 and great stuff for under 1K. You yourself catch lots of good to very good idn .coms each day at reg fee. Keep in mind that these were names that people could not justify spending the $59 at snapnames.
.nets to me are like double speculating. First speculating on idns taking off and then speculating that there is room for .nets after the .coms and .jps,.cns, etc.
I pick up .nets occasionally and almost every time I have buyer's remorse.
What I do think is undervalued is second tier idns.
