chinese ISP dotcomdotCN hack question

whenever dot CN's IDN TLD goes into the global root after Nov 16 ...

will the ISP hack in China for IDN dot com dot cn become immediately irrelevant and overtaken by the global BIND and DNS propagation ?

Is it already going away...
some of my 1 hit/ month names are now at 3/day in the last few weeks.

From what I know of BIND it would seem that root servers in China would be forced to treat these addresses as Third level domains ....
and more importantly at third level domains of dot CN...

global root servers will be able to handle IDN dot IDN dot IDN ...

so it would seem that IDN dot com dot CN of the hack will now possibly
resolve as IDN dot gonsi dot zhong guo

It would seem that verisign would have a very good legal case if the hack remained ...

thanks..

Steve

Re: chinese ISP dotcomdotCN hack question

The Hack will not remain in place. The Chinese has fought for IDN.IDN in the global root. The Hack would stop it working properly. Not going to happen!
