Hi guys-
I did a lot of research on this - hope I'm right.

Central Tokyo /中央東京.com / xn--fiqxl32yjzo.com / OVT 145,970 / 19,900,000 Google.co.jp - Population 8.5 Million - Domainsite 4/23/2007

Central Tokyo is enjoying a renaissance as massive redevelopment projects transform little-used sections of town into shopping and entertainment hotspots. These major projects, several of which have recently been completed, each have their own unique attractions, but all have one thing in common: The resulting complexes incorporate not only office space but everything people need to live, work, and enjoy themselves in the twenty-first century, including modern residences, state-of-the-art international business facilities, and a plethora of entertainment options. The creation of these diverse new districts is further invigorating Japan's already thriving capital.

中央 means central
東京 means Tokyo

But 中央東京 doesn't really bring to mind the idea of "central Tokyo" for Japanese speakers. Each of the areas being redeveloped has its own characteristics, demographics and individual name - there's no real collective sense of them forming a center. The mere 690 on Google (don't forget the "") backs this up. Complicating things further is the fact that 中央区 is an area of Tokyo, and there's endless potential for confusion.

That's always the danger when making compound phrases by - I presume - glueing together two individual translations.

Yes, this tactic can be good, but is highly risky, unless you check it out. Slam the term into to local google, look for high scores when searched in quotation marks. Even better only register terms with loads of Adwords. Check that your term gets Overture Bids. This tactic can produce some really astounding registrations, but do the job properly, but just reg on a whim!

Asian way: IMPORTANT AREA FIRST, LESS IMPORTANT SECOND.

LAST NAME FIRST, FIRST NAME SECOND.

LARGER AREA FIRST, SMALLER SECOND.

JAPAN, TOKYO, MINATO-KU. In that order.
