電子郵件.net (email.net)

"電子郵件" means "email" or "electronic mail" in Traditional Chinese.

Any thoughts on its value?

Re: 電子郵件.net (email.net)

If it's simplified chinese, it's a good name, but i'm not sure about the .net for traditional. Traffic on simplified names are 50-100 times of traditional equivalents, and .com in general is 10-50 times of .net.

There are many good traditional chinese .com that still can be registered openly.

The top 2 chinese drops were taken by a guy from china yesterday.

Re: 電子郵件.net (email.net)

Is there any way to change the domain from traditional to simplified?

Re: 電子郵件.net (email.net)

That's strange; I thought a Chinese domain could be reg'd in either traditional or simplified, but not both. :s

I fully agree with you.

But the fact is that there are only 1 [电子邮件.com] in the world - and it belongs to only 1 lucky guy. when other people like to own the [电子邮件], he may buy [.com] from the owner (if he could afford it), or try to get [电子邮件.net] or other extentions...

and I believe that [电子邮件.net] & [电子邮件.jp] still worth a lot

Re: 電子郵件.net (email.net)

Is 电子邮件 more popular than 邮件? Just curious.

No, search result doesn't give you the right answer.

I think "电子邮件" is more popular at this time and in the next few years, but "邮件" will be more popular in the long run.

Actually, "email" is more popular, and getting even more popular. Try search the following:

1.寄电子邮件
2.寄邮件
3. 寄EMAIL

EMAIL.com aside, 电子邮件.com is more likely to get type-in than 邮件.com IMO.

Research method incorrect! ---> wrong conclusion :-)

When people use the term 电子邮件 or 邮件, the chance that it is used together with "寄" is very low. And when these terms are used with a verb before them, the length of the verb also affects the choice of these terms. A single-word verb tends to go with shorter terms, and double-word verb longer terms.

"寄" is mainly used by Cantonese, particularly Singaporeans :-) --> (Not popular)

1.寄电子邮件 69,800
2.寄邮件 92,300
3. 寄EMAIL 151,000

"发" is used by Mandarin speakers.

1.发电子邮件 1,790,800
2.发邮件 5,730,300
3. 发EMAIL 2,350,000

"接收" : "to receive"

1.接收电子邮件 369,000
2.接收邮件 366,000
3. 接收EMAIL 426,000

Sometimes it's fun to tease Touchring a little bit about his Chinese, but actually he and me belong to the same group of Cantonese, and I know the "problem" of Cantonese.
