One site, two different hosting companies

Hello,

Is it possible to partially host a website at two different hosting companies?

To make it more clear, lets say I have www.example.com.

Can I host www.example.com/blog with xyz hosting company, while I'm hosting rest of the website at zyx hosting company?

Can I do it just entering nameservers of the two companies for the domain?

Any feedback is highly apprecited.

Kind Regards

Re: One site, two different hosting companies

Easiest way would be to redirect www.example.com/blog to blog.example.com, that way it's just 2 separate entries in DNS.

And always use example.com for this sort of question - it's specifically reserved by IANA for such. (Do a WHOIS on it)

[abc].com is a real website.

Re: One site, two different hosting companies

You can host blog1.example.com and blog2.example.com on 2 different hosts easily with dns only.

Hosting example.com/blog1 and example.com/blog2 on different hosts can be done with more work with special server scripting.

Thank you Drewbert and Blast.

I'll doing it by creating sub domains. Your feedback solves a major question mark in my mind. Thanks a lot.

@Drewbert: You are right, I should have paid attention to it. Sorry...
